Stetch & Bobbito Radio
The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show was an underground hip hop radio show broadcast in New York, originally on 89.9 WKCR-FM, the student radio station at Columbia University, and later on 97.1 WQHT-FM.
In The Source's 100th issue, released in January 1998, The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show was named the "best hip hop radio show", rated above The Wake Up Show with Sway and Tech on 92.3 The Beat, Mr. Magic and Marley Marl on WBLS, and Red Alert on KISS FM.
There is a good chance you have heard of the legendary show but you may not realize they hosts have reunited on the Stretch and Bobbito Radio show available to Apple Music subscribers and have two seasons including 68 episodes available at the time of this writing.
I particularly recommend these episodes:
-
This episode includes many original demos from artists starting around 30 minutes in to the show.
- Souls of Mischief - Cab Fare (demo)
- Hurricane G - Milky (demo)
- Organized Konfusion - Audience Pleasers (demo)
- Nas - It Ain't Hard to Tell (same sample, different mix and lyrics that didn't make the album)
-
This show includes lots of rare freestyles.
- KRS-1 (BDP)
- Big Daddy Kane
- Erick Sermon
- Redman

DJ Stretch Armstrong has revealed on Twitter that DOOM recorded most of "Operation: Doomsday" in three weeks while staying on Armstrong’s couch and borrowing his equipment and records. Given this you know that the show's hosts had a close relationship with the elusive Doom and this show delivers with many inside stories.
